The Silicon Valley Index is a publication that has told the story of Silicon Valley since 1995. It is actually an analytical tool that helps to inform through discussions that take place in its pages. It talks about indicators that measure economic strength and community health while highlighting the current challenges faced today in Silicon Valley. They also provide a foundation for data-rich decision making. It is published jointly by the “Silicon Valley Community Foundation” and “Joint Venture Silicon Valley.
Joint Venture Silicon Valley is an organization that features educators, regional mayors, and business people on its board. The board tracks Silicon Valley’s economic, business, and social trends and publishes these updates for all to see.
Silicon Valley stretches out from slightly south of San Francisco and heads southeast all the way to Gilroy, the self-titled garlic capital of the world, and a city has now become a part of the tech hub in its own right.
Join in the “State of the Valley Conference”?
The State of the Valley Conference is put on by Joint Venture Silicon Valley. It is the region’s yearly traditional “town meeting.” The conference was first held during our nation’s founding when citizens were concerned about many issues that were taking place and therefore wanted to have a meeting to try to reach a reform. They met at the village green, where the citizens worked together to find solutions for future challenges.
Today, concerned residents still continue to meet every year for Joint Ventures town meetings to discuss the Valley’s opportunities and challenges. However, citizens are not the only ones who attend the meetings now. There are many others who also participate, including:

Altogether, over the past few years, nearly 1,500 individuals have attended the State of the Valley per year. Last year’s conference marked the 15th-annual “State of the Valley Conference” held in the area. This year’s conference will be held on February 14, 2020, at the San Jose McEnery Convention Center.
