How to Make Your Bedroom More Organised

The bedroom is where we can relax and sleep at the end of a long and weary day, and it follows that your bedroom should be a comfortable place, a place where you can rejuvenate yourself and get some much-needed rest. But what if the clutter in your bedroom has become too much to handle? What if you simply could not sleep or rest just thinking about how disorganised your bedroom has become? If you have a problem with bedroom organisation and need some redecorating in your home, this one’s for you: here’s how to make your bedroom more organised.

  • Make use of the space underneath your bed

If your bedroom is on the small side and you cannot fit all your belongings in your wardrobe, it may be a good idea to use the space underneath your bed. That’s a prime area for seasonal or non-essential clothing or bed linen. You can store all these in baskets, bags, or small plastic containers.

  • Install more shelves

Shelves are particularly handy for the bedroom, as we tend to have a lot of knickknacks and small items lying around. If you want to make your bedroom more organised, invest in additional shelving. Place the shelves on empty spots on your bedroom walls, or install them on top of your headboard. You can use the shelves to store books, display picture frames, and so on.

  • Invest in a more efficient nightstand

Most bedrooms have clutter specifically on the nightstand, but you don’t have to let clutter on your nightstand get you down. Invest in a nightstand that’s more practical, such as a nightstand with drawers or shelves where you can easily place items such as that book you’ve been reading, lotions and hand creams, eyeglasses, and more.

  • Make use of containers

Your vanity need not be cluttered and disorganised, either. What you can do with all that makeup, perfume, and what-not is put them in small containers, such as trays and dishes. Trays can be used for organising your makeup, whilst small and attractive dishes can be useful for jewellery.

  • The usefulness of coat racks and ottomans

If you need a place where you can hang coats and scarves and you’re tired of hanging these over your bedroom chair, use a coat rack. A coat rack gives a nice, stylish look to your bedroom, and you’ll have a proper place for your coats and jackets. Ottomans are also a great idea; there are ottomans which double as storage space for extra clothing, bedroom slippers, papers, and other small items which you don’t want lying around.

If you want an all-around solution, however, you should make an investment in fitted wardrobes. Fitted bedrooms are becoming more popular because they allow you to have a more organised bedroom; everything is fitted onto a custom-made wardrobe designed especially according to the available space and what you need.
