Faith Over Football for Believers LoveWorld Attendees

By admin / August 7, 2018

On the weekend of July 13-14, 2018, partners and affiliates of Christ Embassy convened for a two-day event focusing on the supernatural. Hosting the conference was Believers LoveWorld President – Rev Dr. Chris Oyakhilome, who commenced the meetings at 3pm each day. Filling the SSE Arena in Wembley, thousands of guests from around the globe—including Africa, North America and several other points of origin—sacrificed their love for football, and forsook the 2018 World Cup, which took place concurrently. The hosts expressed pleasure that so many would forfeit the excitement of the quadrennial tournament to enrich their spiritual lives. For those in attendance, however, the choice was well worth it.

With England winning matches and advancing toward the playoffs, British fans would ordinarily be sorely tempted to focus on the competition to the exclusion of all else. Still, attenders at the BLW meetings expressed no regrets. Given the size of the audience, many believers decided to put eternal matters first. The venue of SSE Arena, Wembley, underscored the significance of this gathering. In operation since 1934, the Arena has served as the site of historic musical concerts and sporting events.

The Leaders’ and Partners’ Conference in the United Kingdom kicked off a series of programs with Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, taking place in the latter half of 2018, or what he calls “The Year of the Supernatural”. The multitudes of partners and leaders attending the conference were favorably impressed and excited to be part of the conference, and to hear Pastor Chris Oyakhilome’s inspiring words. In addition, some conference goers also expressed their admiration for the dynamic ministry of this man of God during the many hours through which he taught and spoke with participants.

Before the event commenced, Pastor Oyakhilome anticipated a spiritually refreshing weekend, and encouraged more pastors and laypeople to support his ministry and take part in future conferences.

“We are taking this thing to another whole new level by the power of the Holy Ghost,” he said.

As a pastor and teacher, prolific author and television host, Chris Oyakhilome is a well-known leader in evangelism, healing and spiritual warfare. Ministering for over 30 years, he has led conferences in places as varied as the United States, South Africa, Ghana, Nigeria, Canada and the U.K. Having published multiple books on faith and life, he also coordinates an extensive global prayer network that has attracted millions of associates.

Pastor Oyakhilome emphasized that he came to London in order to spread the word of God to the many attendees with the hopes of “catapulting everyone to a new pedestal of faith”. Pastor Chris has declared 2018 the “Year of the Supernatural,” and that believers should expect noticeable breakthroughs in wisdom, health and finances. He exhorted believers to expect the unexpected and believe the unbelievable. Such pronouncements draw the public’s interest, hence the notable showing at Leaders’ and Partners’ Conference.

The private meeting was heralded as a success and the hosts were pleased with the “glorious demonstration of the Spirit of God through teaching, prophecies, miracles would impact leaders and partners in the BLW Ministry, for the greater works to be done.” Prior to this occasion, Pastor Oyakhilome held a week-long conference for Christian leaders in Lagos, Nigeria.
